4-1/2” Thick Stone and I-Beams
This residence in Miami Beach, FL was extremely challenging to detail. The wall construction is masonry and many areas had 4-1/2” thick ledger stone which required triple stacked 2x wood bucks. These had to be sequentially structurally anchored and specially engineered to pass the high hurricane wind loads. Other areas were exposed I-Beams which had minimal tolerances.
