About

Originally from Dallas, Texas, I started my construction career supplying decorative plumbing and hardware fixtures to luxury homebuilders in the early ‘90s.

Discovering an opportunity to specialize in luxury hospitality, I created a division at the top luxury showroom in Dallas to pursue that market. In 1994, I was the first person to have a booth at the Hospitality Design Trade Show in Las Vegas displaying high end plumbing and hardware and expanded over the next three years in partnership with key manufacturers. I spent several years flying around the country in my mid-20s giving consulting presentations to some of the Top-10 Hospitality Design firms to help specify fixtures for properties internationally from Mexico, to the Caribbean and Saudi Arabia.

In 2005, I began supplying complete turn-key construction packages to builders in the Caribbean from South Florida. Working closely with builders, designers, and architects in the Turks & Caicos, Cayman Islands, Virgin Islands and elsewhere I expanded my expertise into windows and doors and other phases of building materials from underground pipes and pumps to concrete accessories and formwork, framing and drywall, flooring, and roofing materials.

In 2010, I took over as sales manager and formed a new division of the company to supply and install windows & doors in luxury residences in South Florida and assembled an incredible team of top talent with over 100 years of combined experience in executing complex projects.

Over the next 12 years, I established a reputation with leading architects and builders as the foremost expert in luxury hurricane-impact window systems through my extensive knowledge of the technical details of all of the leading manufacturers and how to plan for all the details of installation and finishes.

With the explosion of complex modern architecture in South Florida over the past 12 years, many architects and builders have had difficulty keeping up with the rapid advances by window and door manufacturers in testing larger systems with 10’ floor to ceiling windows and doors becoming a minimum standard and 12’ being the new goal. Planning for how all of the finishes are going to come together around the windows 9-12 months after windows are ordered is often not fully detailed in drawings and beyond the expertise of most builders and window dealers.

Why my experience is unique in the industry?

I was able to learn how everything ties together from design to construction to installation. I worked closely with architects and homeowners during design development to construction drawings often over one to two years before contractors were even brought on board.

I would then work with the contractor through planning and construction, often being on site at key times to help lay out the foundation and shell for recesses, pockets, column placement, and overhead beam coordination. Very often I would personally lay out exact dimensions on the slab for the shell and steel contractors.

I worked closely with my installation manager to laser and measure openings, establishing slab and header variations, coordination with framing and cladding for finished floor level and custom bucking.

I oversaw the shop drawing and purchasing process and managed relationships with the manufacturers. And after material arrived I would regularly be on site checking up on installation progress and later as building finishes came together.

Manufacturers know their products. Salespeople know the products they are selling and how to sell. Installers know how it goes in. I have been privileged to learn the entire process in the hardest location to built in (South Beach Miami Dade).

I am passionate about improving the process and helping professionals and owners deliver better projects.
