Miami Beach 12’ x 24’ Window
Multiple designs were proposed for this opening with horizontal steel beams as is typical. Design team wanted thinnest possible frames.
I proposed the Aldora front set window wall system which has a 3” wide frame that can span 12’ long up to 5’ wide. It uses 1” thick solid steel bars inside the frames for structural reinforcing.
Working with a specialty Fenestration Engineer, we were able to design the opening without any structural steel beams.
