Never Bend Pre-Painted Brake Metal
More BAD INSTALLS - Never bend powder coated or pre-finished brake metal! Brake metal needs to be measured precisely after windows and doors are installed, bent (preferably .060 and not .040!) and then painted to match the exact finish of your windows and doors.
If your windows and doors are 12' tall, the supplier should get 12' brake metal (yes it's harder to find but is available).
Most window companies bend pre-painted thinner .040 brake metal but generally .040 should be the standard and .090 for anything over 8"-10" wide.
Pre-painted bronze sheet may not be an exact color match to the window and door finishes. Kynar paint should be the exact color code and powder coat should be the same RAL number.
Simulated Woodgrain finishes like this photo shows are EXTREMELY difficult to match and the window company should source from the same painter as the window manufacturer uses.
